Gorillas and Elephants Safari combines Uganda and Kenya’s most iconic wildlife experiences. Your journey begins in Entebbe, where you spend one night relaxing and recovering from jetlag. Over the following two days, you will trek through the dense rainforest of Bwindi Impenetrable National Park in search of the magnificent mountain gorillas. Here you will observe these gentle giants in their natural habitat, watching their behaviours, movements, feeding habits, and interactions within their family groups.
After this remarkable experience, you will fly to Nairobi and spend the rest of the day at leisure. Optional activities include visiting the Giraffe Centre, the David Sheldrick Wildlife Trust, or enjoying a guided city tour to discover the culture and history of the capital.
Your safari continues with three days in the legendary Maasai Mara National Reserve, often referred to as the world’s greatest wildlife theatre. Here you will explore vast open savannahs, riverine forests, and swamps rich in wildlife. The reserve is home to elephants, lions, leopards, cheetahs, buffalo, giraffes, zebras, wildebeests, hyenas, and numerous antelope species. The famous Mara River, inhabited by hippos and Nile crocodiles, plays a vital role in sustaining the ecosystem. The Mara also offers exceptional birdlife, with species such as eagles, vultures, secretary birds, hornbills, ostriches, and colourful kingfishers frequently spotted across the plains.
After your time in the Mara, you will return to Nairobi to rest and reflect on the unforgettable memories and incredible wildlife encounters experienced throughout your safari. – if you find it to be too long you can reduce the length of it

Day 1 → Welcome to Entebbe
A warm welcome awaits you upon arrival at the Entebbe International Airport.
On arrival you will be transferred to Lake Victoria Serena Hotel for a prompt check in. Only 20 minutes from Kampala, Lake Victoria Serena Golf Resort & Spa is a beautiful Mediterranean-style oasis overlooking the shimmering vastness of Africa’s second largest lake.

Day 2 → Entebbe → Bwindi
After an early breakfast you will be transferred to Entebbe Airport for your flight to Bwindi at Kisoro Airstrip. Located within Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage site. It is the perfect base for a tracking experience as it offers luxury in the heart of the rainforest.
After lunch relax and enjoy a short siesta in the afternoon, please stay around to acclimatize to the height so that next morning you are able to walk better.

Day 3 – Bwindi → Impenetrable Forest
Early breakfast this morning before a briefing from your guide. Tracking commences every morning from the park headquarters at 8.30 am. The gorillas we track belong to one of the ‘habituated’ family groups in Bwindi.
For several years each group has undergone an extremely delicate process that has gradually made them used to the presence of humans. Experienced guides will accompany the tracking, many of whom have been involved in the habituation process themselves. Once the gorillas are located, the group will be allowed a maximum of one hour with them. Return to Nkuringo Gorilla Lodge for dinner and an overnight stay underneath the stars.
Day 4 → Welcome to Kenya and Nairobi
After a hearty breakfast you will be transferred to the Airstrip for your flight to Nairobi by Entebbe, Upon arrival at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport, you will be met by our Airport representative who will fast track you through Immigration and assist you with your luggage.
They will then escort you to the pickup area where a member of our Moyo Team who will transfer you to Nairobi Serena Hotel for an overnight stay

Day 5 → Nairobi → Masai Mara
Early morning game drive followed by breakfast. Transfer to the airstrip for your flight to Masai Mara. Masai Mara is famous for hosting the epic Great Migration, the Masai Mara welcomes 1.5 million wildebeests onto its sprawling savannahs each July through October crossing the Mara River from Serengeti in Tanzania to Masai Mara in Kenya.
Upon arrival you will be transferred with enroute game drive to your chosen camp

Day 6 and 7 – Masai Mara National Reserve
Two full days in the Mara with morning and afternoon game drives.
The reserve is a paradise, with abundant elephant, buffalo, giraffe, lion and cheetah alongside the migratory wildebeest and zebra. Leopards are frequently encountered, endangered black rhinos hide in the dense thickets and large rafts of hippo and enormous crocodiles are found in the Mara River. All meals and overnight at your chosen camp
We recommend the optional Balloon Safari over the Mara Plains.
This will become the highlight of your safari as you glide over the plains and enjoy a birds eye view of the majestic beauty of Masai Mara.
Day 8 – Masai Mara – Nairobi
Early rise followed by breakfast, transfer to the airstrip for your flight back to Nairobi. Upon arrival into Nairobi you will be transferred to Argyle Grand Hotel.

Our Safari Vehicles are designed to give you comfort and space to enjoy a wonderful experience of natural wildlife sightings.
Baggage Space is strictly restricted so please do not over pack as you will need to leave back extra baggage at a cost of Storage and Transportation. The Safari vehicles are open from the top and non air conditioned.

Visa, Travel and Baggage Information
1. Kenya is Visa free but you need to do a mandatory electronic travel authorisation which you can do at www.etakenya.go.ke
2. Baggage must be packed in soft suitcases or Duffel bags only and a maximum of 15 Kgs per person and 7 Kgs of Hand Baggage on Safari.
3. For Arrivals after 2 pm, guests must spend the first night in Nairobi as they cannot proceed to the National Parks.
Footnotes Read Carefully
Please note that complimentary drinking water is not served during meals in Kenya. This has to be purchased from the bar at most lodges and camps.
The hotels offer two bottles of drinking water in the rooms on complimentary basis.
This Safari is conducted in a Landcruiser with 7 window seats maximum.
Our vehicles are not air conditioned as they have open tops so air conditioning will not work.
Game driving is restricted to a maximum time of 8 hrs a day as your guide’s daily duty time.

Payment Policy
Our Payment policy is as follows:
For International and Domestic Air tickets a 100 % prepayment must be received at the time of confirmation of the booking. These are subject to penalties of various kinds and therefore please confer with us to ascertain what is applicable.
Payments are required as follows unless otherwise agreed:
50 % deposit upon confirmation of the Safari if booked more than 90 days in advance. Balance payable 60 days prior to arrival. In case the Safari is booked within 59 days, full prepayment is required at the time of booking. All Bank Charges are to be borne by the clients or agents.
Cancellation Policy
The following Cancellation policy is application:
Over 90 days- Nil Penalty
89- 60 days- 20% Penalty
59- 45 days- 33% Penalty
44- 30 days- 50% Penalty
29- 15 days- 75% Penalty
Less than 14 days- No refund at all
